I met an elderly Indian gentleman
a couple of weeks ago while searching for someone who could
braid horsehair into a bracelet, and told him the tragic
story of the horse I loved so much. He looked me in the eye
and gave me the answer to my question WHY. "God needed him
more than you do. That is why there is no reason." There is
comfort in that for me. He will live forever in the hearts
of those of us who loved him so much, for his spirit as well
as his magnificent beauty. I have said from the very
beginning that he was a gift to me from God, and that I
would do the best I could by him. I tried in every way to do
that, because his spirit would not let me give up. He was
never a "has been", only the victim of some bad breaks.
He NEVER will be a "has been". He will shape the future of
things to come in the horse world through the beautiful
foals he has given to many of you. I celebrate the time he
was mine and the gift of YOU that he gave me. I want to
thank each of you for being an important part of my life.
From this point on, I am back ---- and on to the future! We
will always be a TEAM! |
